The Translucency color is a really great step but if youi want to take it to the next level you need to play with the "volume" and specular/top coat settings. Honestly I would not use top coat at call unless you are doing a wet character, just get the specular looking good. The translucency stuff depends a lot on the maps and the settings, but if you mess with Transmitted Measurment Distance and Scatter Measurement Distance you can get some nice effects.

It is a good expression. Though it looks to me like she is enjoin a movie and not giving a fuk about those two. Not sure what you were going for.

Well if you look at Maya eyes you can see that she's looking over to the others. At least i hope that one can see that. But even if she is only watching the movie it works i guess :).

This is my first render where i only use natural light sources (fireplace, candles and HDRI map). It's crazy how complicated it is to get exactly the areas lit you want with only these light sources.

In the end i'm a romantic after all :) .

EDIT: removed older, much more darker version
