| An announcement has been made on Crunchyroll's official site that states they will begin to digitally distribute twelve different Kodansha manga titles through a new service called "Crunchyroll Manga." This service will publish the latest chapters of these twelve manga titles the same day they are released in Japan. Both free and paid users of the site will be able to use this new service. Free users will have access to the latest chapters, while paid users will have access to the latest chapters along with all previous chapters for each title. All this content is available in 170 countries, including the U.S. and UK. "Crunchyroll Manga" launches on October 30, 2013 with additional details being revealed then as well. The twelve manga titles include: 1. Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan) 2. Fairy Tail 3. Uchuu Kyoudai (Space Brothers) 4. UQ Holder! 5. Nazo no Kanojo X (Mysterious Girlfriend X) 6. Kimi no Iru Machi (A Town Where You Live) 7. Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo (Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches) 8. Kamisama no Iutoori Ni (As the God of Death Dictates 2) 9. Yep, I've read it. It's just so much they need to explain, scanlations may be available for all of these titles (and most are caught up) but they can't tell people to read them. They have to make a ridiculous amount of chapters officially available before they can simulpub these titles from my perspective. |
| I don't follow any of those manga (not that I read most of them) as soon as they are out (usually marathon it after many chapters are out), except fairy tail. It's not enough for me to go back to crunchyroll, unless they add even more manga. |
| The only problem I see with this is a limitation to the US, essentially leaving the rest of the Western countries without (il/semi-)legal opportunities to check out new manga... which was honestly one of the main reasons why certain series got popular in the first place here. They better have European services available as well soon. |

| The only one I am caught up to is UQ Holder so I am fine with jumping to a legit source for that, especially with this week off. I wish there was a way to catch up for free, 30 dollars a year for 12 titles seems a bit much. Well I will test it with UQ, and if I like it, may try Fairy Tail through it. |

Even if you were just going to read the ones in Weekly Shounen Magazine (which is close to half of them) it costs about $2.62 per week, so for 52 weeks that makes over $135 per year. How is $30 per year a high price again? Oh! Compared to reading them illegally! Well, yes, paying for anything is more expensive than steeling! That's a given. But paying something as small as $2.50 per month to support the artists and authors who make stories you love to read, that is really not expensive at all! I would bet that they'll make more on the pittance that they get from advertising from the free users than they will from premium users if that is all they are going to charge. It would be a bargain at the same price as the anime membership, around $7 per month. Plus you only need to get a premium membership for long enough to read the back catalog. Once you have caught up, you can cancel and read the free stuff each week. (Or month, as the case may be. MGX is a monthly) C) Who knows, it could be included in the Premium Anime membership, in which case you get new anime weekly as well as new manga. |

| Crunchyroll has come a long way. I noticed this season they are simulcasting almost every show I'm watching and now that they are going to supply manga as well, I'm just about ready to start paying for a premium account. Only thing holding me back now is the fact that my internet is too slow to smoothly stream 720p quality or better (which is one of the largest benefits to premium users). |

| This is a breakthrough in the online manga licensing model. Since JManga was discontinued some time ago, Crunchyroll must have been exploring new models other than the traditional pay-per-volume and pay-per-title ones. |

| I hope the All Access Black Friday $50/year deal includes manga too but I will likely have to get it even if it isn't. Anime, drama, manga, perfect combination and so cheap! So many titles for so little money, it really is a no brainer if you have a job it isn't much money at all. |

| I would not recommend getting a sub to CR for the manga along, CR's already tried the digital manga thing once with Jmanga, which imploded earlier this year leaving all those who bought manga losing access to all manga they purchased. (I was among those, I was not happy.) And yes, CR was part of Jmanga, it was an alliance between Crunchyroll and Bitway Co., Ltd. So while I may take advantage of this because I already have a CR sub, I expect it to go down in flames within a few years and do not count on it being around later on. At least they seem to have some decent titles this time, Jmanga's were nearly all niche ones. |

| I've never used CrunchyRoll for anime but this sounds like a good service. I'm guessing (or hoping) that you pay a monthly subscription that allows you to read all the chapters you want? If so that sounds pretty neat, better than Jmanga where you had to pay for each chap/vol. I looked through CR's website but I didn't find an answer... How much will the service cost per month? I looked for prices but only found the 5 dollars per month for the premium membership ( and I think that's for the anime service only?). I'm probably missing something so this might be a stupid question. |
